How GeekyExpert Makes Money
We believe transparency builds trust. This page explains exactly how GeekyExpert generates revenue, what our commercial relationships look like, and -- most importantly -- where we draw hard lines between business operations and editorial independence.
Our Revenue Sources
GeekyExpert sustains its research through four primary revenue channels. Each is designed to fund our work without compromising editorial integrity.
Sponsored Content
Vendors may commission sponsored profiles, category spotlights, or research briefs. All sponsored content is clearly labeled and visually distinct from independent editorial research. Sponsorship does not grant influence over our independent reports or rankings.
Commissioned Research
Vendors may commission extended profiles or deeper analytical coverage. All commissioned content is clearly disclosed at the top of the page. Commissioned research follows the same evaluation criteria as independent work, but the funding source is always transparent to readers.
Affiliate Links
We may earn commissions when readers click through to vendor websites from our research reports. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page that contains them. These links help sustain free access to our analysis but do not affect rankings or editorial conclusions.
Display Advertising
Display ads and newsletter sponsorships appear on GeekyExpert. Advertising inventory is managed separately from editorial content. Advertisers do not receive advance notice of editorial coverage, and ad placement has no bearing on rankings or evaluations.
The Editorial Firewall
GeekyExpert maintains a strict separation between its editorial and commercial operations. The editorial team selects research topics, chooses evaluation criteria, and assigns rankings independently. The commercial team manages advertising, sponsorships, and partnerships. These teams operate on opposite sides of a firewall.
When we publish sponsored or commissioned content, it is always clearly labeled at the top of the page so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial research. Independent reports never carry sponsor influence -- even when a covered vendor has a separate commercial relationship with GeekyExpert.
For the full details of how this separation works in practice, see our Editorial Policy.
What Money Does NOT Buy
No amount of commercial investment can purchase the following. These boundaries are non-negotiable.
- Inclusion in research reports
- Ranking position in any evaluation
- Positive coverage or favorable conclusions
- Editorial influence of any kind
Our Disclosure
Commercial relationships do not guarantee inclusion, ranking position, or positive coverage. Rankings are based on the evaluation criteria described in our methodology.
